| ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW |
| LATENITE 010986 |
 |
| THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW is a magical phenomenon unlike anything ever before seen onscreen. Borrowing largely from cinema's horror conventions, the film begins as an innocent young couple is stranded at the home of a mad scientist who is building the perfect man. The castle is filled with a most bizarre group of characters who worship their master, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, played magnificently by the fabulously sexy Tim Curry, in leather jacket, pearls, fishnet stockings, and heavy makeup. Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) are forced to examine their own sexuality as the voluptuous doctor releases the hidden desires in each of them. |

| INSIGNIFICANCE |
| 013186 |
 |
| This unique film takes place in 1953, and explores such themes as fame and emotional detachment. The four disparate main characters -- The Professor, The Actress, The Senator, and The Ballplayer, are thinly-veiled versions of Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Joseph McCarthy and Joe DiMaggio, respectively. When they all wind up in the same hotel room one night, the quartets' interactions with one another reveal fascinating aspects of their personalities, including vulnerability, naivete and guilt. But sadly, one trait is common to all four characters: despair. |

| AC/DC: LET THERE BE ROCK |
| LATENITE 022086 |
 |
| The movie features AC/DC live at the Pavillion De Paris on December 9, 1979, during the tour that would be singer Bon Scott's last. After almost ten minutes of glimpses at the backstage life, the real movie starts as the band is introduced playing live on stage. Although the band is still in their '70s minimalist era with few stage effects and pyrotechnics, the live performance is considered one of the best and most energetic of their career. The live concert is intercut with quasi-fictional interviews with the members of the band. The interviews took place in Reims, France, two days before the concert. |

| MISHIMA |
| 022886 |
 |
| MISHIMA: A LIFE IN FOUR CHAPTERS is director Paul Schrader's stunning film biography of one of Japan's most celebrated post-World War II writers--Yukio Mishima (Ken Ogata). A fictionalized account in four segments, three of the segments parallel events in Mishima's life with his novels (THE TEMPLE OF THE GOLDEN PAVILLION, KYOKO'S HOUSE, and RUNAWAY HORSES), while the fourth depicts November 25, 1970, the last day of his life, a day in which he committed two puzzling, stunning acts--one political, one deeply personal. MISHIMA is an amazing, disturbing multidimensional character study whose stunning visual splendor is supported by a riveting score by Philip Glass. It is a daring film that explores an obsessed artist--and tries to understand him--through his own writing. |

| FOOL FOR LOVE |
| 071886 |
 |
| Robert Altman's adaptation of Sam Shepard's play takes the characters off the stage and places them deep in a barren New Mexico locale. Eddie (Sam Shepard) is a mysterious cowboy drifter who returns to the seedy El Royale Motel with the hope of resuming his romance with May (Kim Basinger), a blonde bombshell who works as a waitress in the bar. Over the course of one night, the lovers argue and talk endlessly, gradually revealing the tragic secret behind their tumultuous affair. Adding conflict to the proceedings is Martin (Randy Quaid), a man who is out to win May's heart. Altman captures the confined atmosphere of Shepards play, keeping the locations to a minimum. Shot in the middle of the Santa Fe desert, the film plays itself out like a disturbing, nostalgic dream. As the bickering couple, Shepard and Basinger perform with a fiery passion that makes the silent desert all the more unsettling. The songs, by Shepards real-life sister, Sandy Rogers, ring throughout the night, augmenting the film's dark tone. |

| SALVADOR |
| 100386 |
 |
| Oliver Stone's first overtly political film, SALVADOR is a passionate protest against the savagery unleashed by fascist thugs in El Salvador during the early 1980s with the complicity of the U.S. government. It stars James Woods as combat photojournalist Richard Boyle, an erratic, cynical character with a taste for all things chemical. Hearing rumors of war, he and Dr. Rock (Jim Belushi), another free spirit, head for El Salvador by car. After viewing a right-wing officer's collection of severed ears and photographing a corpse-strewn garbage dump with ace photographer John Cassady (John Savage), Boyle realizes that the situation is much worse than advertised in the American press. He recognizes familiar faces among the ubiquitous U.S. military brass and CIA personnel from his stint in Vietnam, but they're predictably reluctant to discuss the reasons for their presence, especially with the outrageous Boyle. As the journalist becomes involved with a Salvadoran native named Maria (Elpedia Carrillo) and observes the selfless dedication of his humanitarian worker friend Cathy (Cindy Gibb), compassion and outrage slowly begin to replace his cynicism. When Boyle swears to the dying Cassady that he'll get his crucial photos out of the country, he realizes that he must also try to get Maria out before she too becomes a statistic. Woods gives a brilliantly incendiary seriocomic performance in this wild, lacerating, and bitterly observant film. |

| ABOUT LAST NIGHT... |
| LATENITE 100986 |
 |
| Danny (Rob Lowe) and Debbie (Demi Moore) are in love--on a strictly casual basis--in this sexy comedy. Based on David Mamet's stage play SEXUAL PERVERSITY IN CHICAGO, director Edward Zwick's ABOUT LAST NIGHT... is a funny, provocative, and often insightful look at young romance in the 1980s. At a neighborhood bar, Danny, a swinging single, meets Debbie, a bright young advertising executive who happens to be sleeping with her boss. Sparks fly, and the pair go home together to enjoy what they think is going to be a meaningless night of sex, preferring casual sex to commitment. Danny and Debbie both enjoy their own freedom, work, and friendships. Debbie relies on the support of her roommate, Joan (Elizabeth Perkins in her film debut), a cynical kindergarten teacher, while Danny is constantly exchanging dirty stories and work anecdotes with his coworker and best friend, Bernie (James Belushi). Although they desire to keep their independence, Danny and Debbie begin spending more and more time with each other and finally end up moving in together, quickly becoming domesticated in spite of their fears. However, their whirlwind romance gets the better of them and, although they have strong feelings for one another, they break up. Emotionally devastated, they both attempt to move on while realizing that they may have had something more important than their supposed freedom. This in-depth look at the difficulties of modern relationships is insightful and sexy, featuring palpable chemistry between the two seductive stars. |
